About the Event

What vAIA is, and why it exists.

vAIA (Virtual Australian International Airshow) brings the excitement of Avalon Airshow to the virtual skies. Recreated over a custom-built Avalon Airport scenery, vAIA features full flying displays, static park showcases, and warbird formations — all flown entirely by community pilots across Microsoft Flight Simulator, with live air traffic control provided by real VATSIM controllers.

Hosted in partnership with VATSIM, VATPAC, RAAF Virtual (RAAFV), FSRLTS, and Iris Simulations, vAIA is one of the premier virtual airshow events on the VATSIM network, bringing together pilots, controllers, and aviation enthusiasts from across Australia and around the world for a weekend of formation flying, warbird recreations, and airshow spectacle. The event will next take place on the last weekend of January 2027.
